THE REAL DATA ON CARBON DIOXIDE
February 23, 2007 - The series concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) flaunted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as a justification for the reduction of so-called "greenhouse gases" is a fraud. A study by Professor Ernst-Georg Beck , [1] German Freiburg, shows that the Committee has selectively collected data on CO2 emissions before 1957, through measurements made on ice cores taken recently, ignoring the more than 90,000 direct and accurate measurements made by chemical methods from 1857 to 1957.
In a precise review of 175 scientific articles, Beck found that the founders of modern greenhouse theory, Guy Stewart Callendar and Charles David Feeling (this especially an idol for Al Gore) were completely ignored careful and systematic measurements carried out some of the most famous names of physical chemistry, including several Nobel laureates.
Measurements of these chemists showed that today's atmospheric concentration of CO2 of about 375 parts per million (ppm) is exceeded in the past, including a period between 1936 and 1944, when CO2 levels varied from 393 to 454.7 ppm. There were also measurements, with error margin of 3% of 375 ppm in 1885 (Hempel in Dresden), 390 in 1866 (Gorup in Erlangen) and 416 in 1857 and 1858 (Von Gilm in Innsbruck). Ironically, while the increase of the 40 correlated with a period of average atmospheric warming, Beck and others have shown that the warming preceded the increase in CO2 concentrations.
The data found by Beck came mainly from the northern hemisphere, geographically spread from Alaska over Europe to Poona, India, nearly all taken in rural areas or the outskirts of town without contamination by industry, at a height of about two meters. The evaluation of chemical methods followed revealed a maximum error of 3%, up to 1% at best.
By contrast, measurements taken from ice cores show a rather steady increase in CO2 levels, conveniently consistent preconceived idea that increasing industrial activity has produced a net increase in CO2. As Beck has shown a collaborator, Dr. Zbigniew Javorowsky, former director of the Polish radiation monitoring service, the gas trapped in ice cores is not valid as an approximation of atmospheric concentration. The continuous process of freezing, thaw cycles and pressurization of the column of ice drastically alters the original atmospheric concentrations of gas bubbles.
According to the theory of global warming, increased CO2 in the atmosphere caused by human activities like burning of fossil fuels, acts like the glass of a greenhouse to prevent the return of sunlight received by Earth's surface. While on the one hand, this effect exists, carbon dioxide is low on the list of "greenhouse gases", weighing as much as 2-3% of the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse gas far more important is water vapor. However, the water in the form of clouds can reflect sunlight causing temperature reduction. There are so many interrelated effects, the sunspot cycles of the earth orbits, which connect the global temperature to CO2 concentration is like trying to predict the value of a hedge fund by the phases of the moon.
To be credible this correlation requires a large and sophisticated ability to lie and the greenhouse theorists will have, but unfortunately for them, scientists have begun to collect data on the concentration of CO2 since the beginning of 700, in conjunction with the first studies on the process of photosynthesis, and today we have over 90,000 accurate measurements, and only fools can give credit to the "greenhouse gases" by Al Gore.
